Purpose of the website

The purpose of the GICS website is to make your life easier using South Africa Government and Provincial Government Gazette.

To fulfill this purpose, the objectives of the website are to:

  • Provide access to online government Gazette
  • Provide information about government and Provincial laws.

The main target audience of the website is:

  • the broad public
  • intermediaries - government officials and other - for providing information to the broader public
  • the media
  • national, provincial and local government officials
  • private-sector organizations and business
  • the international community.

Scope of information on the website

The website covers the following content:

  • Information on South Africa public holidays.
  • Government documents. This section includes documents and publications such as the Constitution, Acts, Bills, Regulations, Notices, policy documents, the Government Tender Bulletin, Government Gazette, Provincial gazettes, etc. Documents open for public comment are also published on the website
  • Information on key issues.
  • In Links to non-government websites with content matter relevant to government's national priorities

Other website features

  • Use the details on the contact page to contact GICS. You can also request additional government information that is not available on this website.
  • Subscribe to mailing lists. Revelant information that is published will be email in a newsleter to subscribers.
  • What's New page provides a listing of the latest information available on the website. Information is organised according to the main information categories available on the website, while new website features are also announced when relevant.
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). This page contains questions and answers that are frequently requested by users of the website. FAQs on information as well as on website issues are provided.

The website is updated on a daily basis. Our policy is to provide information as and when it becomes available. However, the developers of the GICS website cannot guarantee the currency of information that is published on other websites that we link to. See Terms of Conditions, par 4.3.

  • A search link is available on the website. This search functionality only searches information that is available on this website. It is not possible to search on other websites from this website.

A screen resolution above 1024 X 768 pixels is recommended but the website is responsive.

Document formats

The main format for information on this website is PDF. PDF versions of documents are provided to preserve the original layout thereof and to assist users in the downloading thereof.
